BC Legislature Golf Awareness Day A Success!

The Allied Golf Association met with honourable Ministers and Members of Legislative Assembly during the 2014 British Columbia Legislature Golf Awareness Day in Victoria, BC.

Eric Foster, MLA for Vernon-Monashee, provided a two minute statement on the Golf Industry in British Columbia to the cabinet, AGA-BC representatives conducted 6 meetings with Ministers and MLA’s and hosted 35 for lunch.

Key messaging was provided in a British Columbia Golf Industry nine hole scorecard which included three pillars – Golf is good for British Columbians – good for our economy, good for our environment and good for health and wellness.  View our BC Legislature Golf Awareness Day – April 30 2014 Presentation.

We then asked government to join us on the back nine…

Environment
Let our industry self-regulate our selves through a delegated authority model.
Tourism
We would like to work with the Province to help grow Tourism in British Columbia through a golf tourism and event hosting strategy.
