The Allied Golf Association of BC’s (AGA-BC) Environmental Advocacy Committee is inviting proposals to update the IPM Guide for Turfgrass Managers. This guide was first published in 2002 and was last updated in 2009. This guide was jointly produced by the Western Canada Turfgrass Association (WCTA) and the Ministry Of Agriculture. The Committee would like to see a thorough updated including some key components such as, but not limited to:

  1. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) fundamentals
  2. Disease and pest identification/management
  3. Current approved PMRA products
  4. Current Acts and Regulations
  5. Calibration of equipment
  6. Current issues section
  7. Recommendations to other useful publications, smart phone applications and websites.

The Committee would also like to see this document in a Microsoft Word format for ongoing future updates, have this posted as a secure PDF on our allied websites and available to purchase to public if required.

The end goal is that this publication will become a Golf /Fine Turfgrass Standard in our industries with the expectation that all turfgrass managers in BC will abide by this living document.

Invitation

The Committee would like to invite proposals from individuals/companies with the following qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the key components stated above
  • High level of experience in agronomy/turfgrass/horticulture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in documentation creation
  • Post-secondary education in turfgrass or a related field

Proposal Evaluation Process

The Committee will evaluate all proposals equally against the pre-defined criteria through an evaluation process. Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Compliance with mandatory requirements
  • Written responses, demonstrations and references
  • Pricing information provided by the proponent

The Committee will then create a short list and contact those individuals/companies for further discussion.

Proposal must be submitted by December 15, 2015.
